Career Days 2010 in Innsbruck on November 29th & 30th

The AIESEC Career Days are a career- and networking-platform for   students and companies.

They give interested students the possibility to get in touch with the  world of work at university.

In contrast to general and well known fairs, the AIESEC Career Days enable students to get direct contact to companies by workshops, talk to the manager events, case studies, small presentations or conversations in a pleasant atmosphere in an AIESEC Café.

The Career Days 2010 in Innsbruck were a great success.
Altogether, 125 students and 7 companies (Peek & Cloppenburg,
GE Jenbacher, voestalpine, Wüstenrot, Steinkellner China Services, CAST Tyrol, STARTeurope) took place at the event at Innsbruck university.

For the promotion of the event, AIESEC Innsbruck sent 15.000 E-Mails, distributed 2000 flyers and 250 posters, made 2 interviews on Radio NRJ Innsbruck, wrote articles for the newspaper “Die Presse” and much more.

LaufWunder 2011

- a charity run, organized by AIESEC Innsbruck and Caritas

Hi guys,

Our social project, t

he charity run in the Rapoldipark on June 17th was a great success.

Thanks again to all the volunteers, who parti

cipated and supported the event!!

Following I will give you a short description of the event and our experiences.

First some impressive facts:

More than 470 volunteer pupils participated and summed up ran about 2400 kilometers. 30 volunteer helpers assured a trouble free flow of the event. The final result is not yet definite, but we have raised donations of more than 11000 €!! Great success!!

The core team of AIESEC consisted of Ilkkan Karatas, Christiane Mitterer, Simone Posch, Jonas Sutter, Dominic Poschenrieder, Tobias Schwarz and Marian Breitenbücher, but especially a

t the event itself many AIESECers supported the project.

Our first task was to organize a location, whereby t

he city allowed our first choice, the Rapoldipark right away. Then we had to find schools, willing to engage themselves. What we learned is that it is important to inform the people as soon as you can, so they can plan their program. But do not expect them to confirm too soon, the most regis

trations where handed in short before the event. Then it was important to raise funds for our non-profit event, which was the hardest and most frustrating job. In the beginning you have a certain expectation on what you want to get and have to find out what is realistic. Means you have to accept a lot of rejections in the beginning. Of course it was important to offer the companies a certain publicity for their donations, so we had to contact newspapers, radio… and create a good platform for the event. With the event approaching we had to organize and coordinate the different areas on the spot like AIESECers as voluntaries registration, wardrobe, catering and the track
itself. As everything was well prepared we have been able to spend a nice successful day in the Rapoldipark.

What we learned during this great project was:

Do it if you get the possibility to do it

Do not take it too easy, there will arise many unforeseen tasks

Do your tasks in time

Make sure there is a good communication and harmony within your team

If it doesn’t work the way you want it, keep on trying there will be another good way!

Your Marian
