Executive Board

The Local Committee AIESEC in Innsbruck is currently lead by five ambitious students:

Michael Scherwinski

My name is Michael Scherwinski and I am the president of AIESEC in Innsbruck.

AIESEC is for me something you might call a "training firm". This means that whenever I make a mistake I can get back up off the ground up onto my feet, learn from the experience and I won't make that same mistake again. Therefore I am well prepared for the business world.

But AIESEC is much more than that and you can improve your skills in various different ways!

After one year in AIESEC I am able to give presentations in front of 300 or 400 people without any hesitation. I can speak English in a better way, because conferences are always in English and I met many people from different countries! AIESEC is for me a unique concept which helps me to foster my personal and professional future!

Raffael Gurschler

My name is Raffael Gurschler and I have joined AIESEC in 2009. Currently I am responsible for the AIESEC CareerDays in autumn 2010 in Innsbruck, an event where students can get into touch with applied business practice through workshops and case studies held at the university by renowned domestic companies. With this position I got the opportunity to challenge myself in realizing my own ideas. Leading a team, negotiating with stakeholders and selling go hand in hand in order to make this event a successful venture.

The main reason, why I joined AIESEC, are the great exchange opportunities. Since I do Slavic Studies and International Business Administration, it was always clear to me to go to Russia for an internship some time. So when I heard about AIESEC, I became curious.

Our organization offers young, talented, dedicated people of all fields of study an incredibly spacious network of international contacts and conferences. The experiences we gain from conferences affect our daily routine and inspire us in the way we do things. This is why I affiliate a very special philosophy with AIESEC, a philosophy of mutual respect, of cosmopolitan attitudes and passion.

AIESEC was and is still a chance for me; a chance which changed my life and my studies completely. When I was a freshman in my first year of studies I joined the organization. I had no clue how to plan a recruitment or how to lead a team until the point came where I got the chance to take over a leadership position. I had to face challenging ups and downs within this time; I had to deal with different individuals and different opinions; I was pushed beyond my limits, out of my comfort zone. But all these happenings; all these ups and downs showed me one thing same as Benjamin Franklin. “Hide not your talents, they for use were made. What's a sundial in the shade?“

I discovered my potential and my talents and more important I learned how to use them. AIESEC is the unique chance, which I am living now.

Tobias Rabanser

In the two years, I'm in AIESEC now, I had a lot of opportunities to gain worth-while experiences: by organizing and participating in conferences and events, negotiating with companies and partners, internship in Kenya, and during my daily commitment in AIESEC.

I see AIESEC as a unique possibility for everyone who is looking for an international platform to develop one's own hard and soft skills, and to make life changing experiences.

What I can say about AIESEC: only who invests time and commitment in AIESEC will get something out of it, and the more you invest the better your AIESEC experience will be - "it's up to you!"

In the term 09/10 I'm responsible for the area Incoming Exchange.

AIESEC offers students more than experiencing an internship abroad.

AIESEC is for me a great opportunity to gain soft and hard skills, which will be very helpful in working life. In AIESEC I learned how to give successful presentations. Also the development of leadership potential and the discovery of talents are a part of this continuing process of learning.

Being a member of the executive board is one of the greatest challenges in my life. As an economy student working in the executive board of AIESEC I have the chance to put all the theoretical knowledge learned in university into practice.

During my AIESEC experience I met many interesting people. I was really impressed of all these Aiesecers, working with passion and willingness in this world’s largest student organization.

Being a member in this world’s largest student organization means to me to experience something you can’t describe in words and that’s exactly what is named as the AIESEC experience.
